When left alone with their child, some mothers choose a less than successful “parenting” strategy.
If a son or daughter starts to misbehave, the mother begins to frighten the child with the father.
Phrases like: “I’ll tell your dad everything” and “When dad comes home from work, he’ll punish you.”
Such threats should be avoided. They can have a negative impact on both the child and his parents.
"Delay" of punishment
One of the main principles of raising a child is as follows: “Measures must be taken by the parent immediately.”
By threatening the baby with his father, the mother postpones the solution to the problem until a later date.
And often the threat remains unfulfilled. As a result, the child begins to feel impunity.
The child stops obeying his mother
It is possible that the child will come to the following conclusion: only dad can sort out the problem.
Perhaps in such a situation the mother will simply cease to be an authority for the child.
"Evil" dad
If a mother constantly threatens her child with her father, the child may get the impression that dad is an evil person who only punishes.
It is unlikely that the father deserves such a "status". Especially if he is a calm person, always ready to understand the situation.
