Small children often cry. And this is normal: the child is showing natural emotions.
If a baby cries once, this does not mean that he is a crybaby.
Perhaps the child has actually encountered some serious problem for him, to which he reacts emotionally.
Parents must act correctly in such a situation. It is important to support the baby.
There is no point in putting psychological pressure on him, shaming him, or yelling at him.
In addition, you should not say the following phrases to a crying child:
"Don't cry!"
It is worth giving up the imperative and commanding tone. After all, the child may get the impression that he is harming his parents.
In addition, the baby will be even more upset if mom and dad are angry. There may even be more tears.
Of course, loud crying is annoying. I want to stop it.
But it is better to understand the reasons for the tears. Also, parents should show the baby that they understand his condition.
"Don't cry, you're not a girl!"
The commanding tone combined with the attempt to impose stereotypical thinking only makes the situation worse.
Boys have the right to emotions too. It is not worth turning your son into a secretive and withdrawn person.
"Crybaby-vaxx!"
Ridicule and teasing are also not necessary. Such expressions are unlikely to make the child stop crying quickly.
But such phrases can easily lower a child’s self-esteem.
