During the summer holidays, schoolchildren may gain weight.

However, it’s not always about grandma’s treats.

It is important to correctly calculate the child’s diet so that he is healthy and his weight is stable.

Nutritionist Tatyana Meshcheryakova told Life in more detail.

She noted in a conversation with journalists that the children's menu should contain more protein, which is useful for growth. It is advisable to exclude empty calories.

In this case, we are talking about sweets, cookies and other confectionery products. You also need to cut down on soda. All this threatens not only problems with weight, metabolism, but also with teeth.

As for the caloric content itself, it can be increased by 15 percent for the reason that more energy is required during active summer activities.

The diet should include fruits and vegetables. The child also needs to drink a lot of clean water. If the child is not yet seven years old, then his norm is about a liter of liquid per day, but for children from seven to twelve years old it is advisable to drink at least one and a half liters.
