Almost every child has the desire to gain knowledge from the very beginning.
However, at some point the learning process may become uninteresting and even unpleasant for the child.
This situation may arise due to the fault of adults. For example, an incompetent teacher.
And it happens that mom and dad are to blame, having discouraged the child from wanting to study.
So, what kind of parental phrases are dangerous for a student striving to gain knowledge?
"Why not "ten"?"
Some parents believe that their children should only get the highest marks in school.
But this is the wrong approach. You shouldn't criticize your child for "not getting high enough" grades.
Otherwise, the student will come to the conclusion that the purpose of attending an educational institution is to obtain good grades, not knowledge.
Of course, in this case the child will not enjoy the learning process: the “chasing” of grades, excessive stress and fear of getting a “C” will interfere.
"And here is Vasya..."
By comparing your child to his classmate, you do not motivate your child to study.
On the contrary, you make the child lazier (“I can’t catch up with Vasya anyway”) and more insecure.
"Wrong again!"
Do not scold your child for mistakes made while doing homework.
Remember: in the learning process, mistakes are allowed. The main thing is to correct mistakes.
And constant criticism will make the student give up.
"If you don't know how, don't try it!"
Don't set your child up to believe that "nothing will work out" anyway.
A child who is set up to fail is unlikely to want to learn.
"Let's do it for you instead."
Don't do your child's homework for you.
Otherwise, the student will come to the following conclusion: "Why should I try? Mom and Dad will do everything for me anyway."
