No one doubts anymore that fried, salty and fatty food for dinner is harmful to health. On the contrary, boiled vegetables or fresh fruits should help digestion and avoid weight problems.

But there is one small snag. Not all vegetables and fruits will be useful if eaten before bed.

Gastroenterologist Dmitry Fedolov told Gazeta.ru how to correctly compose a dinner menu.

Vegetables

First, you should exclude legumes, as they cause bloating and stomach pain.

Secondly, starchy potatoes, corn, etc. After them, the glucose level increases, and problems with excess weight arise.

Fruits

The doctor recommends excluding grapes, bananas, and sweet varieties of pears from the diet.

These are sources of sugar, which in itself does not bring any benefit to anyone.

Whole milk

At this time of day, it can cause digestive problems. Milk is difficult to digest and can cause bloating, pain, and cramps.

It is better to drink kefir, fermented baked milk or consume yogurt with a fat content of no more than 2.5%.

High-calorie foods

It is recommended to exclude cheese products, everything spicy, salty and sweet.

In addition to the fact that this food is high in calories, salt and sugar retain fluid in the body, which can lead to swelling, fatigue and heaviness.

At the same time, the doctor advises having dinner 2-3 hours before going to bed, which will allow the digestive system and body to properly rest.

For reference

Dinner is the last meal of the day, usually in the evening or at night. Dinner is either one of the meals or the meal itself, prepared for the evening.
