The endocrinologist and nutritionist at SM-Clinic, Daria Khaikina, told us which popular products accelerate aging.
Her statement is quoted by the Izvestia newspaper.
What foods accelerate aging
Firstly, sweets. Excess sugar leads to the destruction of collagen and elastin, which are responsible for the elasticity of the skin.
For the same reason, you should avoid drinking sweet soda.
Secondly, trans fats. Fast food is rich in them, as well as margarine and industrial baked goods.
Trans fats impair circulation, depriving the skin of nutrients and oxygen.
Thirdly, alcohol. It causes dehydration, which leads to loss of elasticity of the skin.
Alcohol consumption also leads to a decrease in the levels of vitamins A, B and C, which are important for cell regeneration.
Fourthly, products made from refined flour (white bread, pasta).
Increase blood sugar levels, which causes inflammation. Inflammation, in turn, accelerates cell aging.
The nutritionist also recommended limiting the consumption of salty foods, smoked foods and sausages.
