Excesses at the New Year's table can lead to an exacerbation of chronic diseases.
This was warned by physician-therapist, hepatologist, and preventive medicine doctor Sergei Lopatin.
The specialist listed the illnesses that worsen after the New Year in a conversation with the publication “Doctor Peter” .
What illnesses often make themselves known after the New Year
Firstly, diseases such as gastritis, stomach ulcers and pancreatitis may worsen.
The main trigger for the exacerbation of these diseases is excessive consumption of alcohol, fatty and spicy foods.
Secondly, cholelithiasis. Exacerbation of this disease requires hospitalization.
Gallstone disease is aggravated by an excess of sweets, fatty foods, baked goods and alcohol.
The symptoms are as follows: severe pain in the right hypochondrium and upper abdomen, nausea, vomiting.
Thirdly, alcohol, stress and salty foods can worsen hypertension.
Fourthly, gout may worsen. Exacerbation of joint problems is caused by the abuse of protein foods: meat, jellied meat, canned fish, seafood.
Alcohol can also trigger an exacerbation of gout. Champagne and wine are especially insidious in this regard.
In addition, overindulgence at the New Year's table can cause an exacerbation of urolithiasis and liver disease.
