There are no secondary organs in the human body whose malfunction would not affect overall well-being.

However, there is no point in talking about any health if problems with blood vessels and blood circulation begin. That is why scientists are so diligently looking for ways to keep them healthy.

Of course, a lot depends on lifestyle, heredity and the absence of bad habits.

Diet makes a significant contribution to maintaining vascular health, according to German scientists who published the results of their research in the journal BMC Nutrition.

So, a scientific experiment was conducted, in which 94 people were invited to take part.

The volunteers were divided into three groups, each of which was prescribed a personalized diet.

The first were fed plant foods. Group No. 2 did not limit itself in anything, including meat consumption.

Participants in the third group consumed protein from animal foods, but in strictly limited quantities – 50 grams per day.

As it turned out at the end of the program, it was the participants from group No. 3 who demonstrated the best results in terms of assessing the work of the cardiovascular system.

The diet was called flexitarian, or, more simply, a flexible diet.

In addition to the aforementioned 50 grams of meat per day, it included vegetables, fruits, and dairy products.

In this case, fish and eggs are included in the diet no more than three times a week.

The diet increased the elasticity of blood vessels and, at the same time, reduced the level of bad cholesterol in the blood.
