Alcohol itself is not a healthy product to consume. However, the intoxication from it can be many times stronger if a person combines this dangerous type of drink with a number of food products or drinks.
Sweet food
Snacking on champagne or wine in the form of chocolates, pastries and cakes is not the best idea. The problem lies in the peculiarities of glucose. When it enters the body, it breaks down faster than all other substances.
This leads to rapid intoxication and a severe morning hangover. In addition, alcohol increases the effect of oxalic acid in chocolate, which can cause inflammation, spasms and painful colic.
Salty food, fast food
Combining alcohol with salty food is a classic way to drink it. Salted nuts, snacks, pizza, dried and smoked seafood, chips - these are what often accompany alcohol-fueled pastimes.
The danger of the combination in this case is that wine and beer begin to act as a way to drown out the ever-growing feeling of thirst.
Moreover, the majority of salty snacks contain monosodium glutamate. This substance increases appetite, making you eat even more, and therefore drink alcohol.
Vegetables in marinade
Pickled cucumbers and tomatoes are considered traditional snacks for vodka.
But processed vegetables with a high content of vinegar essence and salt corrode the gastric mucosa. Alcohol intensifies this process and acts as an irritant.
As a result, a person will experience pain, heartburn, colic, and in the long term, inflammatory processes, gastritis and peptic ulcers may appear.
Fruit and vegetable juices
Vegetable and fruit juices are often used as companions to alcohol in cocktails. It is believed that the drink, as paradoxical as it may sound, becomes safer.
But few people think about how much fruit and vegetable acids from freshly squeezed or store-bought juices corrode the stomach lining.
They are active irritants on their own, not to mention their combined effect with alcohol.
It increases the effect of acids several times. In addition to severe intoxication and its consequences, a person will experience stomach pain.
High-fat foods
The usual table salads with mayonnaise, fried chicken, sandwiches with sprats and butter, pork chops with cheese and many other holiday dishes are not the best company for alcoholic drinks.
Fatty foods and alcohol put a triple load on the liver, causing intoxication, the pancreas, adrenal glands and stomach. Fat also helps alcohol to be absorbed into the blood very slowly. A person will drink more, which will negatively affect his condition in the morning.
