But Polish scientists have said that taking fewer steps will also be beneficial.
On average, as experts have noted, it is enough to walk about 4-5 thousand steps a day.
As it turns out, even 3,967 steps a day significantly reduces the risk of serious problems. If you walk a thousand steps less, you can reduce the likelihood of fatal cardiovascular diseases.
As for the upper limit of steps, scientists have not found it.
Experts noted that the problem of insufficient activity affects more than a quarter of the planet's population.
The corresponding findings were published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology.
