An endocrinologist has named habits that many people consider to be good for their health, but in reality this is a dangerous self-deception.

Doctor Elizaveta Kardapoltseva said that pseudo-healthy habits are related to nutrition and sports.

Use of dietary supplements

The doctor believes that one of the most dangerous habits, which many people mistakenly consider useful, is the uncontrolled use of biologically active food supplements (BAS).

Kardapoltseva ruled out the possibility of a person independently determining a safe dose of dietary supplements, Izvestia reports. The doctor warned that food supplements can cause liver failure and toxic hepatitis.

Kardapoltseva noted that it is better to replace dietary supplements with fruits and vegetables. She emphasized that natural products retain some vitamins and microelements even after freezing.

Paleolithic Diet

Supporters of the diet eat a lot of red meat, eliminating dairy products, grains and legumes from their diet. The endocrinologist warned of at least three negative consequences of such a diet:

  • excess weight;
  • gastrointestinal problems;
  • negative impact on the cardiovascular system.

According to the doctor, the most useful, balanced and beneficial for the heart and blood vessels is the Mediterranean diet.

Sports training

The doctor noted that people often start doing sports with special zeal, forgetting that this is a certain burden on the body and the cardiovascular system.

The doctor emphasized that before introducing a healthy habit, you need to consult a specialist. For example, contraindications or restrictions primarily concern people who have had a heart attack or stroke.
