Not everyone seeks medical help when they feel unwell.
As a result, the patient begins to self-medicate, which can only lead to additional health problems.
TV doctor Alexander Myasnikov spoke about this in more detail as part of the program “About the Most Important Thing”.
As the specialist noted, people often try to help themselves with antibiotics when they have a cold.
Some may think that this is a universal remedy for any disease, but this is not true. They cannot be taken with a virus.
Myasnikov added that antibiotics are usually prescribed only for bacterial infections.
In addition, antibiotics can only be prescribed by the attending physician based on the patient’s condition and tests.
During the broadcast, Myasnikov also noted that in some countries doctors can be held criminally liable if they unnecessarily prescribe antibiotics to a patient.
