If a dog starts howling in your house or apartment, instead of trying to remember the worst signs about this, think about what is wrong with your pet's life.
In fact, howling is the same way dogs communicate as barking.
Don't think that an unscheduled visit to the vet will help solve the problem. Discomfort can be of both physiological and psychological nature.
1. Most often, this is how animals “entertain themselves” when they are forced to sit alone for some time, locked within four walls.
It is possible that the dog is simply not accustomed to being left alone and appropriate work needs to be done with him.
2. Even strong and ferocious looking dog breeds are afraid of something.
They may be frightened by a sharp and loud sound, they may not like the noise in the neighboring apartment, and so on.
3. One of the physiological reasons is hunger or thirst.
It may be time to increase your portion size or reconsider your diet.
4. With the help of howling, a dog can signal other needs, such as the desire to go for a walk, to the toilet, to communicate with relatives during hormonal activity.
5. Having tried and eliminated all options, but not having found an answer, you need to take the dog to the hospital.
It is possible that the reason for this behavior is illness or injury.
It is also important to remember that young dogs or adult animals that lack physical activity howl more often.
