Just half a century ago, gout was rare, but now, due to the massive excess of meat products in the diet, the disease is becoming more and more common.
Russian nutritionist Nuria Dianova spoke about this.
The expert named the products that provoke the “disease of kings” in a conversation with the publication “Lenta.ru” .
Firstly, canned meat and fish, smoked meats, sausages, alcoholic beverages.
As the nutritionist explained, these products contain large amounts of purines, which cause gout.
Secondly, the “disease of kings” is provoked by offal, which is rich in saturated fats.
Contraindications to the consumption of offal, noted Dianova, are not only joint diseases, but also obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
Thirdly, excessive consumption of coffee and strong tea can cause gout.
Limiting the consumption of these drinks, according to the nutritionist, will not only reduce the risk of developing gout, but will also benefit the nervous system.
In addition, the expert added, foods with a high sugar content are harmful to joints.
It is also necessary to minimize the consumption of sweet soda.
