A strong craving for sweets may indicate an insufficiently balanced diet.
Russian dietitian, nutritionist and gastroenterologist Alexandra Razarenova spoke about this.
Her recommendations are cited by Gazeta.Ru .
As Razarenova explained, a strong craving for sweets can be a sign of an insufficiently balanced diet.
According to the nutritionist, when the body receives sufficient amounts of proteins, fats, fiber and carbohydrates, the craving for sweets decreases.
The specialist does not advise abruptly giving up your favorite sweets, as this can lead to breakdowns and problems with eating behavior.
The doctor reminded that carbohydrates provide the body with energy and ensure the functioning of muscles and the brain.
According to her, radically reducing carbohydrate intake without medical indications is not recommended.
Sweets themselves are not harmful, the only nuance is in their volume, noted Razarenova.
Simple carbohydrates, the nutritionist clarified, should make up no more than 5-10% of the daily calorie intake.
She recommended eating sweets in the first half of the day after breakfast or lunch.
This will help avoid sharp jumps in blood glucose levels, the expert explained.
