Scientists have proven that with the help of diet it is possible to slow down the process of biological aging, maintain youth and prolong life.

Oddly enough, we are talking about a low-calorie diet that has long been known to all those trying to lose weight.

The discovery was made by staff from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University (New York, USA).

Research has shown that in addition to weight loss, a low-calorie diet slows down the aging process and prolongs youth and life.

Research details

Participants in the program chose three ready-made meals over the course of a month. They also received information about the calorie content of the meals and other dietary advice for 24 weeks.

It turned out that most volunteers reduced the amount of calories they consumed by almost 12%.

It was further found that the diet altered individual DNA biomarkers in the blood.

As a result, the scientists came to the conclusion that the low-calorie diet slowed the rate of aging by 2-3% compared to other programs.

The scientists plan to study the impact of diet in the long term. They plan to evaluate the impact of diet on the human body in 10 years.
