This statement was made by nutritionist Elena Solomatina in a conversation with representatives of the publication “ Evening Moscow ”.

She noted that if a person leads an active lifestyle, he or she can eat up to 40 grams of sugar per day.

The nutritionist emphasized that in cases where a person not only actively follows cardio workouts, but also does strength training, then it is acceptable to eat up to 50 grams of sugar per day.

When it comes to a sedentary lifestyle, the daily norm cannot exceed 25 grams. It is easy to calculate the amount based on weight.

For example, if you weigh 65 kilograms, you need to eat up to 1,500 calories per day, but 150 calories of these can come from sugar, which is about 38 grams (10 teaspoons).
