A complicated schedule, fatigue and constant worries can lead to a person starting to eat stress instead of dealing with it in a smart way.
Nutritionist Elena Sviridova told Life about how to avoid the problem.
She noted that the first step is to track and understand the problem that leads to overeating.
Next, you need to shift your focus away from food. For example, you can do sports.
As the specialist noted, physical activity will help reduce stress. But there is no need to overdo it. According to Sviridova, it will be enough to devote at least 15-20 minutes to sports every day.
Another piece of advice the doctor gave was that you shouldn't buy unhealthy food for home. It's better to choose healthy and wholesome alternatives. For example, fruits, dark chocolate, nut bars.
In addition, there is no need to stick to diets that only lead to additional stress. The nutritionist recommended replacing diets with a meal schedule that includes room for snacks.
Another important rule is rest. At least half an hour a day should be devoted to relaxation, favorite activities that will help reduce stress levels, and therefore reduce cases of overeating.
