If you want your child to prefer “healthy” foods, forceful methods and the system of prohibitions should be immediately put aside – they will not help you.
Instead, stock up on time and wisdom. And, of course, our advice.
Instead of insisting that your child eat a vegetable dish, try making it more appetizing and attractive to the baby. For example, baked vegetables acquire a sweetish taste. Perhaps if you arrange them beautifully on a plate, the child will show interest in them.
Never force your son or daughter to eat or finish eating. Take into account children's desires and teach children to understand their own needs. If they don't want to eat, they're not hungry; if they're hungry, they'll eat.
If your child refuses breakfast or lunch, don't try to compensate with snacks. This will only make him want to skip the next meal.
It is better if the child's portion is small. A full plate can scare the baby. If he wants more, he will ask.
Keep unhealthy foods out of your child's reach. If there are no sweets at home, your baby will not be attracted to them. And you can leave chopped vegetables and washed fruits on the table. If the baby gets hungry, he will have access to a healthy snack.
Cook with your child. He will definitely want to try what he has a hand in. Let him wash the vegetables. Ask him to pass the products, give you a spoon or a cutting board. Let him feel like your assistant and get hungry at the same time.
Finally, the most important thing is to set an example of healthy eating yourself.
