With the start of the summer cottage or simply warm season, shashlik and other meat delicacies cooked on coals become a festive dish for many.

Doctors discourage and advise against getting carried away with carcinogenic food, despite its appetizing appearance and unique aroma.

Not only the shashlik itself, but even the smoke coming from the grill can contain carcinogenic substances. It contains, for example, benzopyrene, carbon monoxide and a number of other harmful substances. In addition, very often during the preparation of shashlik, fat drips from the meat onto the coals. This produces fumes that also have a carcinogenic effect, - nutritionist Elena Solomatina told KP.RU.

The expert also advises using firewood for cooking shashlik and avoiding the coals that are sold in stores.

A few more tips

The nutritionist advises cooking poultry or fish on coals, as they are easier to digest.
