Harmful food negatively affects the quality of sleep. This is the conclusion reached by scientists from Sweden.

The study was published in the journal Obesity.

The observations were carried out using volunteers who were randomly offered different diets.

One of them included healthy food, but the second diet option included unhealthy food.

It's worth noting that the latter diet included a lot of sugar, saturated fat, and processed foods.

Both diets contained the same amount of calories, adapted to the needs of each participant.

At the same time, all people adhered to a normal sleep schedule. As a result, it turned out that an unhealthy diet led to superficial sleep. As a result, the body did not have time to recover normally during the night.

This is important to consider because both poor nutrition and poor sleep increase the risk of a number of health problems.
