Why Sleepless Nights Are Dangerous for Students’ Brains: Scientists’ Answer

07.02.2023 12:09

Russian doctors have announced that they have discovered cyclical changes in the amount of informational RNA molecules in the brain.

They can reach up to 15 percent of the total number, reports Gazeta.Ru .

Their number can change under stress, for example, if a person suffers from insomnia even for one night or he consciously refuses to sleep.

As scientists noted in a conversation with representatives of the press, such changes in the cells of the nervous system occurred within a few hours.

It has nothing to do with the number of brain cells.

If this were the case, then a student who usually does not get enough sleep during exams and tests could suffer severe brain damage and begin to have mental problems.

But at the same time, lack of sleep still has a negative impact on the body’s recovery process.
