Cleaning mold from a refrigerator is quite a difficult task, since after cleaning, mold spores can remain and begin to grow again, leading to the reappearance of mold.

To completely remove green and black mold stains, you should either use special preparations from a household chemical store, which will cost you a pretty penny, or improvised means, which are a budget and effective solution.

Hydrogen peroxide

You can clean mold with regular pharmacy hydrogen peroxide. Add peroxide to a spray bottle with water and spray it on the walls of the refrigerator. Leave it for a few minutes and wipe it off with a cloth.

Soak a sponge in pure hydrogen peroxide and wipe the rubber. If there are heavy mold stains, apply a cotton swab soaked in the product to them for a while. Using a cotton swab soaked in peroxide, clean the drain hole and the folds of the seal.

Soda

To clean mold from a refrigerator using soda, pour it into a saucer and dip a damp sponge into the white powder. Locally clean the mold-affected areas by rubbing them with a sponge and soda, leave for a few minutes, and then rinse with water.

Mix baking soda with warm water to make a solution. Pour this solution into a spray bottle and spray it onto the surface of the refrigerator. Wipe the surface with a clean damp cloth.

If there is a moldy smell left after cleaning, use vinegar to remove it. Spray the vinegar on the surface, leave it for a few minutes, and then rinse it off with water.

Chlorine

To remove mold stains from the seal, you can use bleach or chlorine-based cleaning products such as ACE, Bleach, or Domestos.

Put on rubber gloves and mix the chlorine solution with water in a 1:1 ratio. Then soak a sponge in the resulting solution and wipe the seal with it. You can use an old toothbrush to clean the folds, but do it carefully to avoid splashing your eyes.

Afterwards, rub the surfaces and folds cleaned with a chlorine-containing preparation with Vaseline so that they do not crumble.
