The formation of foreign odors occurs especially quickly in a closed space - like the one inside a refrigerator.
The "shower" can be purchased in a set with a new refrigerator, not to mention old household appliances, where the unpleasant smell has literally permeated the plastic and rubber parts.
Fortunately, our grandmothers already knew how to solve this problem, and, to be honest, more than one.
Vinegar
The refrigerator, no matter what, will have to be defrosted and washed from the inside with a soap solution, after which you can proceed to further cleaning.
To carry out the procedure, you will need to prepare a vinegar solution. Be careful: it should not be too concentrated, so as not to damage the enamel and plastic, so it is enough to dilute a tablespoon of acid in a glass of water.
Wipe the walls, tray and seals with a cloth soaked in the resulting solution, then leave the refrigerator door open for several hours.
Alternative methods
Vinegar, oddly enough, is not present in every kitchen, so it is worth considering options for replacing it.
For example, lemon juice has proven itself to be excellent in eliminating odors; it is worth treating surfaces with it in the same way using a napkin. Citrus copes best with the "aromas" left behind by fish and garlic.
Another option is to use ammonia, which is even more effective than vinegar. You only need to add a few drops to a glass of water, and after treatment, dry the plastic with a clean towel and leave the refrigerator open for a day or at least overnight.
