Walnuts are incredibly healthy (omega-3, B vitamins, iodine, iron, magnesium, etc.), but no one likes to peel them.
It turns out that walnuts need to be boiled. With this trick, you won't need a nutcracker, hammer or knife, and you won't have to collect trash all over the kitchen.
How long to cook walnuts
First, the fruits are washed to remove dust, debris, and other dirt. Then the nuts are placed in a saucepan and filled with boiling water.
Place the container on the fire and cook for 3-4 minutes. Stir the nuts occasionally during this time. The shell will soften in a few minutes.
After cooking, the nuts are removed from the pot. Wait until the fruits cool down. Then start cleaning. Take two nuts and press them together. The shell breaks without much effort.
You should not boil them for more than 3-4 minutes. Otherwise, the edible part will be wet. In addition, the nuts can even be slightly cooked inside, which will worsen the taste and reduce the amount of nutrients.
