An unpleasant smell is an integral part of any country toilet.
That is why many summer residents are looking for options that will help to “settle” a pleasant aroma here or at least mask the stench.
A country toilet is often placed at the end of a plot and decorated with climbing plants to hide it from prying eyes. But even a toilet covered with vines will give itself away with a far from floral aroma.
As a bonus, if the area allows, trees are planted 5-7 meters from the toilet, which act as a kind of “sewage cleaner”.
The unpleasant smell inside the toilet is neutralized with sawdust. The wood material absorbs the smell. Therefore, a bucket of sawdust is placed in the latrine and a scoop or shovel is kept nearby.
After each visit to the toilet, a little sawdust is poured into the cesspool. The effect is noticeable almost immediately, say experienced summer residents. Instead of sawdust, ash is used - 1-2 scoops. Any combustion waste is suitable for this - both from household garbage and from firewood.
