One of the common mistakes in caring for white items is intensive washing. They won’t get less dirty from this, but they will definitely become gray and thin.

And this is just regular washing, what can we say about bleaching? Chlorine copes with the task successfully, but the material only gets worse and worse from this.

However, the time to bleach things comes sooner or later, and it is better to do it with safe means.

Boric acid

Suitable for bleaching cotton and synthetic materials. A couple of spoons per 2 liters of warm water and soak for 2 hours are enough.

Laundry soap

Soap alone is not enough – you will also need baking soda. The material needs to be moistened, soaped, add 2 tbsp of soda to the water and soak for two hours in water. It helps if white things have turned yellow over time, but the main thing is that the product works and does not spoil the fabric.

Mustard

Effective in combating ingrained stains. Take 2 tbsp. mustard per 2 liters of hot water. Soak items for 12 hours, then rinse and wash as usual.

Peroxide

Mix hydrogen peroxide, ammonia and baking soda. For 2 liters of water, take 2 tbsp of each ingredient. It helps to whiten, but does not remove ingrained stains. Soak things in the prepared solution for 3 hours, then wash.
