Many people definitely don’t even know why there is a sticker on a banana peel, or rather, don’t know what information is displayed on it.
Most people think that it only displays information about the country of manufacture. This is true, but this information does not bring any benefit to the body.
We'll tell you what you really need to pay attention to when choosing bananas.
The thing is that the stickers display information about the quality, growing conditions and how healthy the bananas are.
Numbers on the sticker
If there is a 4- or 5-digit code on the sticker, then that is where you should start getting to know the bananas.
Typically, the four-digit code begins with the number 3 or 4. This indicates that bananas were grown as an agricultural crop, which means that fertilizers, including pesticides and other chemicals, were used.
The five-digit code usually starts with the number 9. In this case, you can count on the bananas growing in conditions closer to natural ones, and therefore do not contain any chemicals.
If the first digit in this code is 8, then the product in front of you is genetically modified.
But even bananas grown with pesticides will not cause harm. It is believed that harmful substances settle to a greater extent in the peel, and not in the pulp.
