Many gardeners believe that the presence of earthworms in the soil with indoor plants is good.

You may not know that they are in the soil until you have to replant the flower. They can get into the house if you collect soil that may contain offspring.

Benefit or harm

According to experts, in this case, invertebrates will not be able to bring any benefit to the houseplant.

The reason is that the volume of soil in the pot is not that big. As a result of long searches for food, worms can dig an abundance of passages, which can one day harm the roots.

But there is an opinion that in this way worms prevent the development of rot.

But to answer this question correctly, you need to study the characteristics of the plants. For example, dracaena from such neighbors may begin to wither and turn yellow.

Therefore, in most cases, gardeners prefer to get rid of worms in pots.

The easiest way to do this is to fill the pot with water to the brim. The worms will crawl to the surface, and all that remains is to simply collect them and release them into the garden, where they will be more useful than in the house.
