In winter, mice are the boss in summer cottages, leaving behind a nasty smell. Getting rid of it in one go is not so easy, but you can try.
The main thing is to determine the source of the stench. It can be upholstered furniture, carpets, textiles, things, shoes. In this case, do not neglect the advice.
Therefore, in addition to basic ventilation, you need to wash, dry and clean everything you can.
1. Washing and cleaning
Items that have become saturated with a mouse smell will need to be washed at the highest temperature that is suitable for the type of fabric.
The remaining items can be treated with chlorine-containing compounds, if the paint does not fade. The easiest way is to dissolve bleach, soak a rag in it and start cleaning. This solution can be used to wash the floor, baseboards, window sills, etc.

Chlorine will not eliminate the smell, so after the solution dries, you need to start treating with hydrogen peroxide, which has an antibacterial effect. It is more convenient to apply it from a spray bottle.
For wet cleaning, prepare a solution:

- 0.1 l of dishwashing liquid;
- 10 tbsp. baking soda.
3. Potassium permanganate solution
It is used for disinfection, for which 10 teaspoons of powder are taken per 1 liter of water.
4. Vinegar
This is not just a disinfectant, but also a means of removing mouse odor. The solution is prepared from 5 liters of water and 10 teaspoons of 9% vinegar.
5. Of the chemical preparations, the following are used: Chloropicrin, Medifox, Lizafin, Medifox Dez - these preparations are suitable even in the event that dead rodents are found in the house.
