The register of dangerous products prohibited for import and sale in Belarus has been expanded to include Russian-made buckwheat.
This was reported by the State Committee for Standardization's Telegram channel "Safety and Quality".
What kind of buckwheat was banned from sale in Belarus
The ban applies to buckwheat produced by the limited liability company Vega-Engineering (Barnaul).
The products were found to be non-compliant with the requirements of the TR CU in terms of providing reliable information about the name.
As explained by the State Standard, the name declared by the manufacturer in the packaging labeling does not accurately characterize the product and does not allow it to be identified by name.
The examination showed that the cooking time was 29 minutes, while the norm is no more than 25.
It follows that the product has been given an appearance and individual properties, but it cannot be identified as what it is being presented as. The ban comes into force from tomorrow.
