Why Moses Lanham Got Into the Guinness Book of Records: Doctors Just Shrug Their Hands

American Moses Lanham's abilities are impressive, but the spectacle is not for the faint of heart.

People nicknamed him "Mr. Elastic" because of his ability to bend his legs in absolutely any direction.

A whim of nature or a consequence of some disease – there is no exact answer.

And while doctors throw up their hands in confusion, Moses breaks records and bends his legs wherever he wants – even backwards at an angle of 120 degrees.

Lanham is reported to be planning to set a new record by walking 25 metres down a street in Rome with his legs turned in the opposite direction.

No one alive on the planet has been able to establish anything like this, so Moses has all the cards in his hands.

There is an opinion that the American owes his antics to the presence of double joints.

In medicine, the phenomenon is called hypermobility and it is believed that such a pathology is a consequence of a previous illness and can result in trouble for a person.

The record holder himself claims that walking backwards with his legs turned out does not cause him any discomfort.

By the way, he learned about his ability by accident when he fell off a rope during a physical education lesson.

As he fell to the floor, he found that his legs had twisted in the opposite direction.

But he and those around him were even more surprised when, after falling from a height, Moses stood up on his feet and walked as if nothing had happened.
