Philip Osenton worked as a head sommelier in one of London's restaurants. His job required him to quickly serve a large number of customers.
The hall had 140 seats and not all the guests were distinguished by their iron patience. It was this circumstance that prompted the sommelier to set a world record.
One day, a wine consultant wondered how many glasses a person could hold in one hand.
Before him, his colleague, who worked in one of the restaurants in Barcelona, thought of something similar in 2007. He was able to hold 39 glasses in his hand.
In 2012, Philip proved that this was not the limit and made a bouquet of 45 glasses, which he held in one hand.
The sommelier decided not to stop there, and a new attempt allowed him to set a world record – 51 glasses!
The success was officially registered in the Guinness Book of Records.
The man admits that he was guided by the desire to quickly serve the maximum number of visitors.
But at work he doesn't have to run around the room with 50 glasses in his hand every time.
This was done for the sake of a record, which he set with the help of a school of experienced masters.
