Amadeu Teixeira was born in the summer of 1926 in the state of Amazonas in northwestern Brazil.
He was never a professional football player.
However, Teixeira still got into the football sphere. He was among the founders of the team "America".
At first, the man was a physiotherapist and massage therapist.
However, in the mid-1950s, Teixeira began coaching football players.
The man remained in the position of head coach of the America club until 2008.
Teixeira's 53-year tenure in this position allowed him to get into the Guinness Book of Records: the compilers of the reference book recognized the Brazilian as the coach who has led the same club for the longest time.
It is worth emphasizing that under the leadership of the record-breaking coach, the football players of the America team won several regional tournaments.
Amadeu Teixeira died in the fall of 2017 at the age of 92.
