Classics of Russian and foreign literature wrote their works in volumes. It was the work of their lives, but none of them set out to write the most voluminous book.
The first to do this was Stuart Les, who wrote a book of 19,890 pages. But there is absolutely nothing interesting in it.
Australian Les Stewart is unlikely to be called a writer, despite the fact that his name is included in the Guinness Book of Records.
Rather, it is the man who typed the largest book in human history on a typewriter.
He spent 16 years of his life on this.
Having sat down at the typewriter in 1982, he completed his many years of work only in 1988.
During these 16 years and 7 months, he broke 7 typewriters, and needed 1,000 ribbons and 19,890 sheets of paper.
All this time the man simply wrote out in words the numbers from one to a million.
How did this happen? After the fire, Les Stewart became disabled and was unable to work, but he didn't find idleness particularly enjoyable either.
He typed his many years of work with one finger and no more than three pages a day (two hours each day).
He understood that his book was of no interest to society and the literary world.
However, his persistence allowed him to appear on the pages of one of the most famous books in the world.
