If you are a cat owner, you may have noticed that sometimes your cat will fly out of the toilet like a bullet and start literally destroying everything around.
Of course, cats are amazing creatures, but this behavior is puzzling. What is going on in your furry friend's head?
Unfortunately, no one has yet been able to find an answer to this question, but theories have been put forward.
So, from a biological point of view, the cat leaves the litter box in a hurry so that its "enemies" cannot find it, guided by the smell of feces. However, in the wild, where there are more than enough predators, such behavior has not been observed in animals.
According to the second theory, the frenzy that a cat goes into after using the toilet is justified by pleasant sensations.
Like humans, cats have a vagus nerve that starts at the brainstem and runs down the spine, connecting various organs of the body.
This nerve is considered the longest in the nervous system and is responsible, among other things, for ensuring defecation.
Its stimulation can cause a feeling of pleasure. Perhaps this is why the animal can demonstrate violence even before going to the toilet - due to the pressure on the vagus nerve that occurs in the intestines.
Since the duration of this sensation does not exceed a few seconds, the cat quickly “comes to its senses”.
