This must be a timely and fair impact and here is why.
Firstly, a person’s actions must be understandable to the pet.
It has long been noted that if you punish a dog or a mischievous cat after a few hours, they will not understand what is happening.
Therefore, pets will perceive punishment as an act of aggression.
One day this may undermine trust and it will be difficult to become friends with your pet again.
Secondly, the dog must understand that the owner does not approve of its behavior.
The effect should be the same as during training, when the dog is forced to follow a command, only here the understanding is formed that there will be no reward for bad behavior.
Thirdly, no physical measures.
This way you can frighten the animal so much that one day it decides to attack.
