A cat named Towser lived a long life, but she got into the Guinness Book of Records for a different reason.

The long-haired tortoiseshell cat lived at the Glenturret distillery in Scotland for 24 years.

From 1963 to 1988, Tauser was an exemplary mouser at the plant. During her long life, she exterminated 28,899 rodents, which was considered a record.

The owners counted the exact number of mice thanks to the fact that the cat brought the tails of the eliminated pests for the “report”. On average, Tauser killed three rodents a day.

In the town of Crieff, where the distillery is located, a monument to the record holder has been erected. But the interest of fans of meowing pets is also aroused by the unusually long life of the cat, because on average they live 15-17 years.

Tauser was just a month shy of her 25th birthday. Glenturret staff explained that perhaps the secret to the animal's longevity was in the milk the cat drank every day, with a few drops of whiskey added to it, writes the LoveCATS World portal.

However, this did not help the animal break the longevity record. Among cats, this record belongs to Cream Puff, who died three days after her 38th birthday.

A cat that lived twice as long as her relatives is listed in the Guinness Book of Records. She lived in the United States, and her owner did not add alcohol to the animal's milk. But Cream Puff also had a peculiar diet: asparagus and broccoli, which she regularly ate with her regular food.
