Morning or evening: scientists have named the time of day when people feel the happiest

Researchers have given an unexpected answer to the question of at what hours life seems brighter.

It turns out that a person’s emotional state is subject to clear time patterns—and this can change the approach to planning important tasks.

According to a study published in the journal BMJ Mental Health , happiness levels are directly related to the time of day.

British scientists from University College London have found that the peak of positive emotions occurs in the morning hours.

Immediately after waking up, people often feel a sense of satisfaction, and the world seems full of possibilities.

However, by late evening, especially between 23:00 and 01:00, the mood drops sharply.

During these hours, anxiety, sadness and even symptoms of depression increase, which is associated with accumulated fatigue, hormonal changes and a lack of social activity.

Interestingly, happiness is distributed unevenly not only throughout the day.

Data analysis showed that the greatest joy in life is observed on Tuesdays.

Monday and Friday are also among the “top” positive days, while Sunday, contrary to expectations, becomes a time of emotional decline.

Scientists suggest that this is due to the transition from rest to workdays and back.

Seasonality also plays a role. Spring, summer and early autumn give people more energy and optimism.

The winter months, on the other hand, are accompanied by stress and fatigue, perhaps due to a lack of sunlight and reduced activity.

These findings not only explain mood swings, but also suggest when it's best to tackle tasks that require clear thinking.

Tuesday morning in spring? The perfect time to start new projects. And Sunday evening in winter is a reason to postpone serious decisions and just allow yourself to relax.
