How to Avoid Conflicts with Your Summer Cottage Neighbors: Really Useful Tips

01.12.2024 09:31

Unfortunately, a summer house or a private home do not always become sources of exclusively positive emotions.

Quite often, scandals flare up between neighbors, and sometimes they even develop into long-term wars.

To prevent this from happening, try to adhere to the following rules.

Choose the right time to mow your lawn

Mowing the lawn is a noisy job that also produces unpleasant fumes (unless you're using an electric lawn mower).

So before you start cutting your hair, make sure you choose a reasonable time for it - it shouldn't be in the morning when everyone is asleep, or late in the evening, which is traditionally considered the time for family dinner.

Do not place trampolines near a fence.

A trampoline is great fun for kids, but it's best to place it away from the fence because kids can spy on the neighbors' lives when they jump really high.

You probably wouldn't like your neighbor's trampoline installed under your living room or kitchen windows.

Be careful with the jet washer

No one argues that jet washing the exterior of a house is an effective cleaning method, but it requires care. Pressure washing can cause dirt and stones to fly around the garden and beyond, damaging cars, windows, and plants in neighboring areas.

Control the water pressure and distance to the surfaces being cleaned to avoid unwanted consequences.

For reference

A neighbor is a country house used by its owners for living, recreation, and growing agricultural products.
