Interesting fact: at least a third of all humanity wakes up at night at the same time.
Popular rumor connects this with some bad and even occult actions that ill-wishers perform against a person. Scientists have a different point of view.
Why people wake up at the same time every night was investigated by staff from the Centre for Mental Health at Swinburne University of Technology.
Australian scientists have come to the conclusion that the reason for this, as trivial as it may sound, is stress and the passion for reading news (mainly bad news) before going to bed.
In scientific terminology, this phenomenon is called doomscrolling.
What we managed to find out
About a third of humanity regularly wakes up at about 3-4 am.
The reason for waking up at night can be failure to follow a daily routine (people go to bed between 11:00 pm and midnight), lack of fresh air in the room, disturbing dreams, but these may not always be nightmares.
Stress itself does not affect the frequency of night awakenings, but only makes awakening more conscious.
Is it possible to get rid of it?
It is recommended to get up at the same time in the morning and go to bed after you feel drowsy.
Before going to bed, you need to make a to-do list for the new day, which allows you to unload your brain from anxious thoughts.
All of these tips should help reduce the risk of waking up at night.
