It is no secret that in the modern world we are under constant stress and in an endless pursuit of money, achievements and results.
Social networks have a special influence on us, where we see that many people create a picture of a successful life and promote that very “successful success”.
They manage to run a business, play sports, go to social events, raise children and still look amazing!
All this makes us anxious and afraid of missing something, of not having time, of wasting time, says Ksenia Matura .
We often hear from friends that they do not rest because they cannot just lie around doing nothing - for them, "wasted time". The saddest thing is that the constant rush, anxiety and stress can lead to apathy and depression, and also have serious consequences! So what should you do to not be afraid of wasting time?
The first thing to do is to realize that we are the most important people in our lives. And taking care of ourselves, our physical, psychological and emotional state is the first and most important thing.
If we are sick, tired or burnt out – there can be no talk of any efficiency! All the body's resources will be directed towards survival, and therefore towards energy conservation. That is why in a state of burnout and depression we do not want to do anything (often we cannot even do anything), only lie down or watch TV series. This is how the body conserves the remaining energy and accumulates resources.
Understand that when you exhaust yourself with endless tasks and your resources run out, there will be no point in any plans or results.
The next thing to realize is that it is impossible to do everything and everywhere. Our task is to do only what is very important, what corresponds to our values and priorities. There is no point in running after all the goals and desires. Learn to separate your desires and values from those that are “not yours.”
To do this, you need to listen to your desires, try new things, try them on yourself. This way you will understand what exactly you want.
The third thing to do is to get rid of the feeling of guilt for your, as you see it, “inefficiency” and wasted time. It is impossible to always be productive and effective, sometimes you just need to live and do all sorts of “stupid things”.
Another feeling that hinders us is the feeling of shame. Shame in front of other people for not being so successful or for our inaction. Shame does not help us in any way, it only slows us down, makes us do what we do not want, chase after some illusory goals and desires that are not ours!
