General recommendations will help you become more stress-resistant.
They include advice on maintaining a sleep schedule, i.e. sleeping 6-8 hours and going to bed and getting up at the same time, maintaining occupational hygiene, engaging in moderate physical activity, having a hobby to distract yourself from pressing concerns, eating right, etc.
But what to do if you find yourself in a stressful situation here and now? Try using the techniques described below.
1. Focus on your breathing
Take a few measured, deep breaths in and out even more slowly. Try to feel the air smoothly passing through your nose and into your lungs, and then slowly leaving them.
2. Visualize calming down
Imagine a peaceful place and, of course, yourself in it.
3. Take a break
If the acute emotional reaction is a consequence of interaction with another person, try to stop eye contact with him. If possible, postpone the unpleasant conversation or at least take a break, during which you should turn away from the interlocutor and walk.
