Many well-mannered people ask others for forgiveness for everything.
However, this is the wrong approach. There are things that are not worth apologizing for.
In these cases, asking for forgiveness will not help or improve the situation. Quite the contrary.
So, what is it that you shouldn’t ask forgiveness for from your family, friends, relatives, colleagues, and ordinary acquaintances?
For your own tastes
It's silly to apologize for loving "strange" music, or simple comedies or action films.
Watch and listen to what you like, without relying on the opinions of others.
For refusal
Many people find it difficult to say "no." And if they do, they apologize for it for a long time.
But there is no need to ask for forgiveness! Especially in the case when you are not obliged to perform this or that action.
The most you can do is explain your refusal.
For the emotions shown
Every person has the right to emotions.
There is no need to feel guilty for crying, screaming or laughing loudly.
It's better to appear overly emotional than to "hide" emotions and make things worse for yourself.
For the opinion expressed
Each person can have their own opinion on this or that issue.
Don't apologize for your statements. But phrases like "in my opinion" and "this is just my opinion" are quite appropriate.
For asking for help
A popular phrase is: "Excuse me, could you help me?"
The first word is unnecessary. It makes a person vulnerable and reduces the chances that he will be helped.
It's better to say: "I need your help" or "I would be very glad if you could help me."
