Until now, most people believe that men and women are attracted to each other primarily by appearance, and then by money.
It would seem that these are the qualities that lovers value most, but this is not the case. A successful union depends on other characteristics.
Scientific research conducted in Brazil has revealed which character traits future partners consider the most valuable.
It turns out that external data and wealth are far from being in first place.
According to the survey results, kindness and intelligence came out on top.
At the same time, the financial issue was deliberately ignored by both men and women.
And even in the men’s responses, the physical characteristics of women turned out to be secondary.
But the researchers noted that respondents prioritized their relationship choices.
Kindness and intelligence were associated with choosing long-term relationships over short-term ones.
The researchers concluded that without these qualities, it is difficult to maintain a romantic relationship at the proper level over a long period of time.
Among other things, future lovers named the impartiality of the relationship, the person’s ability to empathize, hear and understand.
