When a person cheats, he is subconsciously trying to form a relationship triangle that would be more stable than a relationship between two people.
Sometimes cheaters don't feel even a drop of remorse.
Psychologist Janice Spring, author of the book “Infidelity: How to Deal with Pain, Restore Trust, and Start Living Again,” explained why this might happen.
Firstly, a person may not be happy with their current relationship, but they lack the determination to put an end to it. In this case, betrayal is the event that will help the couple take this difficult step – to break up.
Secondly, a partner may feel angry at their significant other, but they do not know another way to express their anger.
Thirdly, a man or woman may have developed a new passion – although it is not yet clear to him (or her) what place this new love will take in life.
Fourthly, some people look “favorably” at cheating, that is, they do not see anything bad in it and calmly allow it in their relationships.
And fifthly, sometimes it happens that a person has a mental disorder that prevents him from realizing the pain that his partner is experiencing from betrayal.
