Watering tomato and pepper seedlings with kefir is a little-known, but quite effective procedure.
The fact is that fermented milk drink is a source of important components for young plants (vitamins, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, etc.)
Using kefir helps improve the condition of the soil, as well as the roots of seedlings.
The second point is very important: a strong root system gives the young plant the opportunity to obtain the required amount of elements and compounds from the soil.
Another advantage of kefir feeding is the improvement of the plant’s immunity: the latter acquires protection from diseases and pests.
By watering tomato and pepper seedlings with a fermented milk product, a summer resident will significantly increase the chances of getting a rich harvest.
How to water seedlings with kefir correctly
You can’t use kefir in its “pure” form: the white drink must be heavily diluted.
For every 100 milliliters of fermented milk product there should be 900 milliliters of plain water.
The resulting product should be applied under the root. The soil should be moist.
In other words, you should water the seedlings first. And only after that you can use kefir fertilizer.
This liquid can also be used when transplanting a young plant into open ground.
The procedure should be performed once every 10 days: until the flora representative takes root.
