Not all gardeners sow cucumber seeds in the soil in the beds. Many prefer to grow this crop using the seedling method.
In this case, you need to know everything about the conditions for growing this crop at home and about watering in particular.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", a scientist, agronomist and landscape designer, told how to water cucumber seedlings.
Watering rules
Firstly, water at room temperature is used, because cucumber seedlings react painfully to any temperature changes.
This may impair the growth and development of seedlings.
Secondly, cucumbers love water, but at the seedling growth stage, high humidity can cause the death of the sprouts.
The volume of water should be such that after watering the soil can dry out within 2-3 days.
Thirdly, the watering interval depends on the volume of water or the condition of the soil.
You shouldn't rely on any strict schedule. You need to take into account the air temperature, the age of the seedlings, the level of air humidity, the varietal characteristics and other factors.
But at the same time, you must not allow the soil to dry out completely.
And the last important point is watering before replanting.
Moistening is carried out a couple of days before. This will make it easier to remove the seedlings from the container.
By following these simple rules, you will be able to grow strong and healthy seedlings that will give you a rich harvest in the future.
