So why do summer residents make so much effort to ensure that these creatures are not in their beds? The whole point is that the damage is caused by their larvae - caterpillars, which, before turning into a pupa, are capable of destroying almost the entire plant on which they have settled.
The expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh shared measures to combat and prevent the appearance of these pests.
Preparations
To combat the white butterfly and its larvae, you can use biological preparations such as Bitoxibacillin, Lepidocide or Fitoverm.
The pesticides Aliot, Gerold, Iskra Zolotaya, and Kinmiks have also proven to be effective.
Biological agents
In nature, cabbage white's enemies are wasps, in particular parasitoid wasps. They lay eggs in the bodies of caterpillars, which causes them to die.
Prevention
As preventive measures, summer residents regularly destroy cruciferous weeds, collect caterpillars by hand, paying special attention to the inside of the leaves, and destroy pests.
You can also try spraying plants with infusions of chamomile, wormwood and yarrow, or dusting plants with ash and tobacco dust.
