Imagine: what you are used to throwing away can become an irreplaceable helper for plants.
Regular garlic peel, which many consider to be garbage, can protect the harvest, revive flowers and even save money.
Natural shield against diseases
Garlic peelings contain phytoncides and essential oils that suppress the development of fungi and bacteria. A simple infusion of a handful of peels, poured with a liter of boiling water and infused for 48 hours, turns into a powerful antiseptic.

The strained liquid is sprayed on the leaves of tomatoes, cucumbers or roses to stop late blight, powdery mildew or spotting. For sensitive plants, the solution is diluted with water 1:1.
Pest Control Strategy
The pungent aroma of garlic repels aphids, spider mites and cruciferous flea beetles. The dry peel is crushed and scattered around cabbage, radishes or peppers, creating a protective barrier.
If you mix the husk with tobacco dust and wood ash, you get a triple blow to insects.
For indoor plants, a handful of peelings is added to the soil when replanting - this prevents the appearance of midges.
Growth accelerator for root crops
Carrots and beets grown in beds fertilized with garlic broth are less likely to rot and are stored longer. Prepare a "broth" from 100 g of peel and 5 liters of water, boiling the mixture for 15 minutes.
The cooled liquid is used to water the plantings a month before harvesting. And if you soak the seeds of root crops in this solution for 2 hours, they will germinate faster.
Elixir for blooming beauties
Orchids and violets watered with garlic peel infusion form more buds. It is enough to pour warm water over the peel (1:10), leave for 24 hours and strain. Watering is carried out once every 3 weeks, avoiding liquid getting on the leaves.
Flowers not only bloom more luxuriantly, but also get sick less often - natural antioxidants strengthen their immunity.
Compost with a "garlic accent"
Adding peelings to a compost heap accelerates the decomposition of organic matter and disinfects the mass. The husk enriches the future fertilizer with sulfur and nitrogen, which are necessary for plant growth.
The main thing is not to overdo it: too much garlic can disrupt the balance of microflora. The optimal dose is 1 handful per 10 kg of waste.
Winter shield for harvest
Carrots sprinkled with dry garlic peel in the cellar do not rot and do not lose their juiciness. Phytoncides suppress the development of mold, and a dense layer of peel regulates humidity.
The same method works with onions and potatoes - the vegetables remain strong until spring.
